Life Got You Down?
The Answer to Life’s Struggles is a Simple Word.
It’s a word that is full of encouragement.
Mark Rutland, in his book Nevertheless, shows how the simple Word, “nevertheless” holds a key to victory in the difficulties of life. This short book contains some excellent devotions. You can take each of the eleven short chapters of only a few pages each and meditate on how this word can change everything when life gets you down.
Mark talks about what Jesus faced as he struggled in the garden, wishing that his “cup” could pass from Him. Nevertheless, he chose His Father’s way to redeem us from sin, which could only be accomplished by becoming sin for us and giving His blood on the cruel cross.
Other Bible characters faced “nevertheless” moments also. They had to choose to believe and follow God, even though it looked like defeat was staring them in the face. Through moving out in faith, they experienced seeing God turn situations around.
When we are discouraged or can’t find answers to the situations we face, we can pray for God to reveal the “nevertheless.” He will reveal it to us if we ask.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. NIV
If you can get the book, it will bless you. It is full of encouragement.
