How to Spend Memorial Day This Year
How will you spend Memorial Day this year? It is a time to remember and honor those who have given their lives in service to our country. It is also a time to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on the cross. He laid down his life for our sins, so that we could have eternal life with him.
The Greatest Love
As we commemorate the fallen heroes of our nation, let’s also thank God for the ultimate hero of our faith. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13) He showed us what true love looks like by doing that for us. We may not have to give our physical life for someone else, but laying aside our own preferences to take time to help someone else is a way of laying down our lives.
