“Jesus Was Too Busy to Pray Too”

The sun was setting, Jesus had just put in a full day. It was time to relax. But then... the people brought ALL who had various sicknesses, and He healed them all.
It's so easy to busy myself with so much baking, decorating, entertaining, attending Christmas events, and shopping, that I end up getting stressed and rushing through the season without focusing on the reason for the season.
God can break into our ordinary lives as we go about our routine and as we are just being ourselves. Sometimes we are not as ready to receive the good news as the shepherds were. We don’t want our comfortable routine to be disrupted.
During this time of grieving, I continue to see God giving me His grace over and over again. I have peace and joy in the midst of missing my parents.
Shadows have no substance. We can see shadows; some are really big and scary looking, others are small. However, they all have one thing in common. When you try to capture them, there's nothing there. Death is like that. It doesn't truly exist. It's merely a shadow.
Daniel 1:8 says that Daniel "purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself." He made a decision to follow God's laws, no matter what. He loved God.
Within a short period of time of the accident, a hundred or more people were praying for us. The word went out on Facebook, and soon at least three churches were praying, as well as a prayer group in Cyprus where some missionary friends of ours were ministering.
Regardless of when you have your devotional time with God, what makes some devotions good ones while others are just so-so?
I especially remember seeing the members of Congress gathered together and singing "God Bless America." Political differences were laid aside. There was unity in the sung prayer, and it gave me hope that the 9-11 tragedy would result in a move toward God across our country.
